1984 Suzuki DT65 (2 Cylinder) stalls when put into gear

Hi my DT65 Idles well and works fine out of water with ears on. But when in water stalls when shifted into gear. help please. John

This is the classic sign of the carbs needing to be cleaned....remember, it only takes a few drops of gas to rev
motor with no load on it....takes a lot more to spin prop in water, even at idle. If it's idling at 700 in neutral on hose the idle is high enough....clean carbs.

Take care to do a proper strip and clean, with new kits. Failure to deliver fuel means failure to deliver lubrication. Don't use the spray carb cleaners as they can damage the carb parts.Soak the parts in Gunk Carb and Parts cleaner. Follow the instructions on the can.
