This motor cuts out and runs rough between 2000-3000 rpm. This engine has a history with corn gas starting 2010. Gas melted all gaskets and rubber fittings in carbs. Overhauled. Checked and found bad and equal compression in all cyl. Changed head gasket and found carbon loaded around all values. Compression still equal in all cyl and near 0 wear on cyl bores. Compression still under 100. New fuel pump, timing belt, fuel lines, and using real gas. Still same problem between 2-3 rpm. Idles well and runs like a champ above 3000 up to 5000. Any suggestions. This engine only has about 1000 hrs run time.

Too much good money on top of bad. Thinking about dumping for a 60hp from i-boat.

Those carbs on that F40 are a weekly maintenance issue. If the 60 hp is fuel injected might not be a bad idea.
