I'm currently reconditioning a 1980 streaker cabin cruiser with a 70hp Johnson outboard and I'm looking to change out The engine control assembly and I wasn't sure if I had to use Johnson parts or if I can buy a universal engine control, this my be a stupid question but this is the first boat I have rebuilt, I currently have a side mounted control that has the ignition, choke and tilt built in.
