Re: Remote control for mercury 9.9hp 4 stroke
My experience has been that OEM's make 1 remote/cable assy to fit all engines they manufacture. Quicksilver has made/sold models 2000 and 3000 remotes for years. Personally I prefer the 2000 as I like the easy access to the fast idle lever. It mounts ON the bulkhead. The 3000 mounts IN the bulkhead, cables behind it, and to get fast idle you have to push a black cap in to get the shifter disconnected from the throttle for fast idle function....not a good design in my opinion especially after it has accumulated some age.
Why don't you email Quicksilver and ask them the question?
