hi all . i have 1972 25 hp 2 stroke
its cofin and farting , easy to start , new coils points and condensers and plugs, would having no thermostat be the problem
regards stumpstump

If you're saying that the engine is spitting back (sounds like a mild backfire), that's normally caused by a fouled (gummed up) or misadjusted (slow speed needle valve too lean) carburetor.

Lean sneeze? Have you tried to adjust the low speed jet?
