Re: Battery Requirements

I personally like the biggest CCA battery that I can get/fit for my motors. I personally use a 1000cca battery for my older 35/40hp motors.

Great motors. You'll love the reliability it'll offer. I own two of these and two of the earlier 35's. A good quality marine batter with as much CCA that you can get will be all the better. You should make sure your ignition system is in top notch condition, so you can hand start it, just incase. They actually start relatively easy by hand, if the thing is tuned right.

Re: Battery Requirements

Has it got a generator on it?? If not, get the biggest battery that will fit.

Re: Battery Requirements

If it doesn't have a generator you may need a marine battery that is designed for "deep cycle"; that is it designed to be discharged bit by bit until being charged up later.

Thanks everyone. she's a beaut. got it from a guy who's uncle used it for two hours in 68 then put it in a garage. the gold paint was still on the starter wheel.
hand starts like a champ but i'd prefer to use a battery....haha.
i'll take it from here.
