I have a code showing up on my Diagnotic software saying "neutral overspeed".

I have attached the printout of the report.

can anyone help with this problem

Welcome to iBoats.

I am not familiar with the diag read-outs, but it must be that Lake Temp! :D or the fact that it hasn't been over 4K rpms yet. ;) You rev'ed it too high in neutral? Anyway, someone with experience in these read-outs will have some meaningful input. Welcome.

Let's hope the boat was in the water and on plane when he did this read out test??? :eek::D

The boat was in the water and traveling at 3495 rpm when it set a computer code with a beep. I never rev the boat more then idle rpm when out of the water so I think it must be something else.

I would take this readout with a grain of salt... Some of the parameters are obviously incorrect and one of the faults is with the Pitot tube which doesn't that measure boat speed which might be why it thinks it's in neutral?

It knows it is iin neutral because of the neutral start switch.

Looks like you need to check or adjust the gear position switch on the shift bracket.

Thank you for your feedback. I believe my neutral position switch is located on my transmission is this correct.?

Where would I find the gear position switch.

To answer that I need a serial number.
At this point we don?t know if you have alpha, bravo or an inboard.
Posting a serial number makes it much easier for a mechanic to pull up parts and service manual info.
