Does it sound like a good deal to get a new Bennington 20 SL with a 40 horse Honda for $15,500? We are also interested in an 18ft. Manitou Aurora cruiser 25 horse Merc with trailer. Both would serve our needs and the Aurora is half the price. Bennington dealer is on our lake. Don't know whether to bite the bullet or go used. We have had an '88 Harris Floteboat for 23 years and one of the pontoons has a leak. Fix it and keep riding even cheaper??????? New to the forum so thanks for your thoughts.

Unless you lots of slow putting around, the 40 or 25 are awful small. IMHO, I would not buy new because lots of deals are available on used pontoons, especially this time of year. Of course if your Floteboat is in good condition except for the leak, then that is the route I would recommend.

Welcome to the forum and check back with your decision.

Both are quality rigs, "Tebo", but like Eglide stated, for less than half that budget, you could do a lot of fixing / modifying to the Harris !!! Good luck.

Obviously fixxing your current boat would be the cheapest option, certainly less than $200 and the Manitou is a good boat but as the others said a 25 is a really small engine and with the new boat you get a warranty.

All are viable options it just depends what you want, list all 3 boats and the advantages and disavantages to each and a winner should be pretty clear.
