Finder connection problems

I have a Lowrance M56 finder which is probably 5 - 6 years old. The casing around the connector pins (cable end) has become brittle and cracked in some places. There is also some corrosion on the female end of the connector (cable end). The result is a poor connection which you have to play with until you get the correct position and hope it works. Is it best to replace the entire cable or can the end be replaced? If I replace the cable, do I also replace the transducer?

Thanks for any advice.

Re: Finder connection problems

Hello S-Boater,,,,Your new transducer will come complete w/ a new connector on the end as one piece. I don't believe you can buy just a connector. The connection in the d-finder should be cleaned w/ a small wire brush as best as possible and lubed w/ a good dielectric grease to ward off corrosion. ( You should use this grease on all electrical connections in your boats ! ) Hope this helps !!!!!!
