Any Regal owner out there who has had a problem with the engine hatch lift? On the 240 and 260 the engine hatch is the entire aft deck and aft seat. The hatch is opened via a switch on the dash. Mine opens about 2 inchs and stops. If someone holds the switch in the up position I can continue to open it, when it reaches about a foot open the hatch lift motor will open it all the way but the motor seams to "lug." The wireing is a rats nests with 3 power relays. I think the problem may be corrosion at the relay connectors.

Thoughts or suggestions? This cannot be a problem unique to my boat.

Thanks.

Re: Regal Engine hatch lift

hi, welcome to iboats.

first off.....there should be an emergency hatch nder the seat that will let you pull the pin and open the match manually.

the actuator is a worm gear. so make sure the motor is functioning correctly.

as for the relays....i didnt see any. (i worked on the 3060) simple switch and actuator.

if the motor is functioning properly
i would get out a voltage meter and check it at the motor....then start going back up the line.

regal is great with the owners manuals, most have schematics.
