i used 435 marine resin from US composites. Others recommend using 404 tooling resin. Those are both poly
You could use epoxy, but $$$ and its really not necessary IMHO.

Cloth - 1.5 oz CSM and 1708 bi ax worked well for me.

Something tells me your going to learn a lot more about "glass everywhere" lol

Anyway, if you have the time (and if you don't, make the time) read both of these guys (oops! and zopperman) threads. I felt pretty knowledgable about FG before I even mixed my first batch of resin, just from reading their threads. And they have been very helpful as I've started into my project.

I would also check out Friscoboater's thread and all his video's. It is great to read about it, but seeing is believing. LOL
All these guys (gentelmen) have quality reads.

yesterday me and my boy were outside messing around with the boat and i tryed) very successful at pulling all the fibreglass off the floor but a hook tool and by hand... the floor is so water logged its unreal.. there is absoloutly no foam in the bottom of the boat . i just might tear her down and leave it that way till next summer and redo the floor in my boat i will be getting as its an aluminum and wont be that costly to replace the floor.

you are spinning your wheels........

pulling the glass off the deck is unnecessary

when the deck is cut out, the glass comes with it.

Also If you are trying to rebuild this boat. Instead of using the biaxal glass. You can use a layer of Chopped strand and on top of that a layer of Woven Roven. The two fabrics work really well together. Very strong hold and a little cheaper.

Re: need help with glass and resin info/HELP!

the roving is a great material, and was used in boats for decades.

with the invention of other types of cloth glass types......we can get a stronger final product with less work. as well....the bi axel product has a different weave....the weave not only goes at 90 degrees like the standard woven roving.....but also at a 45 degree to the 90.....this gives the material tremendous stregnth in a multitude of directions....not just the longitude and latitude of the lay up.

the bi axe also has a layer of chopped strand matt stitched to the bottom of it..... the csm on the back of 1708 is also a longer strand than the standard 2-3 inch avalable in the market place. since the material is stiched to the multi directional weave, the use of binders in the chopped product are greatly reduced. thus....using the 1708 bi axe works well with epoxy and other specialty resins.

3 layers of 1708, are as thick and as strong as a standard hull.

even though the product has a csm backing, i still advise to use a layer of proper 1.5 csm between layers.
