Fuel in oil????

Hello, i just winterized my boat and had an oil analysis done... everything looked fine except the fuel contamination in the oil was 4.0%

what can cause this?

ps the engine is a 98 Merc 3.0

Diaphram ruptured in mechanical fuel pump, carburetor issue, prolonged low speed operation, choke not opening fully.
