Hello,

I have a Formula 206 and someone told me last year to use 5200 to seal the thru-hull exhaust tips. Then I started doing research and I found out the stuff is impossible to get off. Now the tips need to come off. Big mistake. Does anyone have a good method for removing the tips and the 5200 without damaging the hull or gelcoat? I figure it's not going to be an easy task. Thanks in advance.

That stuff looks like it should work in theory. Has anyone ever used it that can say it worked? If not, what has worked in the past for anyone that has needed to remove 5200?

I would try some heat perhaps use a heat gun or maybe a propane torch. Depends on what this is your trying to get off.

when you go to put them back in they make a gasket for the mounting surface so you dont have to use 5200

5200 is for permanent repairs. my experience has been a grinder is needed to remove it.
