Hi guys i posted a new thread a few weeks back regarding i was concerned with the play on my propeller, well today i took it all apart and i have uploaded some photos here they are:

these ones show what looks like a washer that was behind the propeller (looks like its a washer made of steel) which i beleive is wrong ???

IMG00536-20111107-1807.jpgIMG00537-20111107-1807.jpg

these ones show again what looks like a washer that was in front of the propeller just behind the castle nut, again it looks like its made of steel, again i am presuming this is not correct ??

IMG00538-20111107-1810.jpg

these ones show the propeller that i have taken off, it looks like it has been worn due to the fact of incorrect washers,

So the question is... is this the right parts for the propeller ? do i need to purchase new parts? is the propeller warn out or does it just need a lick of paint ??? oh and the spline is still intact and no evidence of being worn out, Cheers guys

Re: Johnson 35hp Question 1984

Wrong. The bushing is still in the propeller (or I assume it is). It is the splined hub with rubber cushion. It is not for us mere mortals to attempt to replace that.

Other parts, yes.

EDIT: Looks like the prop was rubbing on the gearcase from improper thrust washer. If that is so, you are lucky if it hasn't destroyed the gearcase.

I am pretty sure the forward washer (thrust) is stainless steel. The one under the nut is brass, I think.
