Well, being cheap, (hence my handle huh?) I picked up this Alumacraft today for $75.00
Going to need some work, new transom, and paint of course.
I just couldn't pass it up being a great deal and all.;)

Great, you got her home. I think you might be over-trailered though. LOL Any luck on the O/B?

Ya, a 19 ft double axle is a bit much, but had to do it. I hated shoving the Starcraft off, really is a PITA but had to do it.
I go check out the 15 hp tomorrow.

Good luck on the 15, Kev. You might be able to hump the transom up by five inches and re-brace to handle the long shaft. Hope you are staying home for a little while.

Hiya Tsquared..(lol)
I had this old Lonestar 14ftr that I put together for 400.00 total including a trailer. I sold it and doubled my money, but really missed it so the search was on to replace it.

I've seen manufactured risers that are made for that purpose and they seem to work very well,...And I don't think they are that expensive,...

I was even thinking of using a kicker bracket like I have on my Starcraft, but don't know if the motor sitting back an additional 3 or 4 inches from the transom would cause the bow to rise more than normal.....

It might, but only one way to find out. Probably won't make a lot of difference, especially if you stow some gear forward.

Looking forward to seeing what you've got planned for this rig:D

I think it might be a bit of a pain running a tiller on a kicker bracket, maybe hard to steer?

I've thought about it myself, it would let you run as shallow as needed:)

And he tossed in the $50 plus dollar gas tank with hose and connections and a spare prop.

The motor belonged to his FIL and ran it on a 13 ft Boston Whaler. His FIL passed and he inherited it along with the boat. They want an electric start Yammy 4 stroke, so this one had to go. :D

Wellll, yah. That's certainly one option.

OOooorrrrr, my Islander's kicker bracket (need to build that yet).

Yah, either way but I kinda like the Islander option:)
