Hi,

Does anyone know how the two throttle/stator cables hook
to the underside of the stator plate on a Johnson RDE-16 1954?
The cables have a ball in each end but I can't see how they clamp
to anything.
Also looking for a long shaft drive shaft for same motor, have the
tower extension but no drive-shaft or shift-shaft extender. Got a extra
set of drive shaft gears and foot housing if anyone needs it.
Thanks
J. White

It has been too many years for my brain to recollect, but the cables track in a "pulley" on the bottom of the armature plate. The ball ends simply slip into or through a notch or hole at the ends of the pulley. Tension on the cables is maintained by a spring between them. Take a close look and it should be clear.
