ive got a 5.85m streaker tornament with 170 ltr fuel tank the boat wieghs about 1.7 tonne it has a 20 degree deadrise which i run a 1996 2 stroke yamaha outboard & it currently has a 3 blade prop. What would be better for fuel ecomony i only use the boat for fishing ,is a 4 blade better on fuel , all suggestions welcomed.

Your 175 will use about 17.5 gallons per hour(gph) at wide open throttle(wot)
regardless of what boat it is pushing.Best mpg comes from getting the most speed for a given throttle setting.If you tell us your prop size and wot,rpm and speed by gps.We may be able to tell if your setup works.If your boat works well;while you might be able to improve mpg you would probably have to measure with a flow meter to tell the difference.
Yes a 4 blade could improve ,handling,hole shot and the ability to stay on plane at reduced throttle usually with a slight reduction in top speed.
