1974 85hp ignition circut

My engine was runing great last time out and when it came time to put it on the trailer when i started it ,it died and would not restart with the electric starter was dead.... Pull started and put on trailer.... Pulled starter off and had it tested, tested ok replaced starter solenoid still nothing. Can any one hepl me? Should i go ahead and change the ignition switch.. Battery and all connections also check good

Before you just start putting parts on, do a little investigating. Jump a wire from the battery side of the solenoid to the start lug. If the engine spins, then you start tracing the problem back. Might be the switch, might not...

If the engine is completely dead, you may have blown the 20 amp fuse in the engine wiring harness. That fuse hides in a sealed rubber cover/boot by the starter solenoid. Always good to keep a couple of them in the boat in case of emergencies.
