I disconnected the gas line at the fuel filter to replace the fuel screen. I was unable to get it apart to replace the screen so I reattahced the fuel line. I cranked the boat and it cranked up fine and ran until it emptied the bowl in the carb and then would not crank anymore. I primed the carb and it cranked for a couple of seconds but would not run.

What type of fuel pump is on this boat. manual or electric. in the tank or above the tank. Where is the fuse box. It also could be the fuel pump fuse.

It's an Inline 4 cylinder engine, not a 6 cylinder. Fuses are under the dash if I'm not mistaken. I'd post the serial number of the engine for more help from the gurus.

3.0G what ??? What are the letters after the G? PS it's a 4 cylinder, not 6. Count the spark plugs.

The fuel pump is mechanical. Not sure which line you disconnected or where, or what "Screen" you are referring to.
It's possible if it's the rubber fuel hose you took off a barb that the inside was damaged and now your fuel pump is sucking air and not gas. Cut the old part of the hose that fit on the barb off, and try it. Make sure you use the small mini clamps for fuel hose. The larger clamps can also leak air on thin hose.
