Hello, my late grandfather was an avid boater/fisherman and had numerous boats and motors. i recently came across one of his outboard motors, a JOHNSON SEAHORSE 10 (white) and have been trying to do some research to find out more about it.
it says JOHNSON 10 SEAHORSE on the top, it is about 3-3 1/2 feet tall and is all white. the model number is OD-21.
can anyone shed some light on this for me? i would like to know the year it was made, how powerful it is and approx what it might be worth. it is in remarkably great condition, starts easily and runs great.
thanks

That is a QD-20, Jason. Good little motor.

Re: Johnson Seahorse 10

Hi Jason. Yup you have a QD-21, which makes it a 1960, Johnson 10 hp. I used to have a '61 Qd-22. All and all they're great motors. About the only weak spots on them are the clutch dogs, which can/do wear out over time and/or the original OMC ignition coils (if it still has them. Here's a great link that can walk you through a basic tune up of your motor, and you can get virtually all of the parts you may need right here at iboats. Holler if you get stuck.
