Hi,

I am new to the 6hp model, but have a 3hp Lightwin which seems similar - great little engine. This overhauled 6hp engine starts and runs well, but will not discharge its cooling water unless the (new) thermostat is removed from its housing. With the thermostat fitted all I get from the water outlet (and the indicator from the cylinder block (pee hole)) is steam apparently driven out by the exhast pulses. The water pump is new and is operating normally, and water forced into the cylinder block coolant entry seems to exit from the block as it should. All water channels into and out the pump have been flushed and are clear. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a bypass channel round the thermostat that might be blocked? Any advice welcome...
