Hello all,

Well 2 ' itis bit. Lund sv 14 got sold for a 1750 fisherman. 2010 Yamaha F90 is a heavy little devil and if I'm to get a kicker on the back the batteries need to go forward. Re-model front hatch or ...

Anybody out there down this modification ? All thoughts welcome.

Is this creating a problem or are you just anticipating one? How many batteries in the back?

I think I'd wait and see how it goes before getting into rocket surgery.

Re: Moving batteries forward on a Lund 1750 Fisherman.

Sorry for the delay in responding. End of chum season had me on the water.

Hull is a '94. I have two batteries that are located in the rear under the splashwell.

I find that I am slow to get on plane and quick to come off. Standing in the rear at trolling speed there is water just coming in the drain holes.

Front hatch has 2 anchors and 3- 10 lb downrigger balls stowed. Can't see adding more weight to balance better.

Appreciate your comment bassman284. Rocket surgery is best avoided. Boat slays fish so at least I don't have that issue..

Hey Bows Up, also sorry for delay but I sometimes forget to check into this forum for awhile.

I'm glad you understood my post. I was really wondering if you had actually had the boat out and were experiencing problems. You've answered that.

Unfortunately, it's now sounding like rocket surgery because I suspect you might have water logged foam. I'm not really an expert in this stuff or on the 94 Fisherman, for that matter, but my feeling is it should be able to hold up that 90 Yam and the 2 batteries without a whimper. That's why I think you've got excess weight coming from somewhere else. Just for reference, I have a 2001 Explorer SS rated for 75hp. I have a ~250lb 60 hp 4 stroke on it, single battery and a 105lb 9.9 kicker (roughly the weight of 2 batteries). I find almost no difference in planing performance or position at rest whether I have the kicker mounted or not.

I'm going to PM one of the mods about moving this thread to one of the more active forums where you'll find people who really know what they're talking about.

Oh, glad to hear it's a fish slayer, means we have to solve the"minor" issues.

Thanks for the reply. Yamaha F90 weighs 369 lbs. You are at 355 lbs so the difference is one battery. Gas tank is centered but not forward.

Bilge is dry. Boat doesn't leak. Water logged foam... hmm. Had been stored under cover for a couple of years. In my shop now. I think I'll try the search feature and pop up a floorboard or two.

The way you linked water logged foam and rocket surgery leads me to believe you have had some experience in this regard. Appreciate the PM to the mods.

No personal experience but I've read some things here.

Doesn't look like they're going to move it but there are a lot of threads available on this subject. Good luck.
