1985 90hp johnson compression ?

I went and looked at a 1985 90hp johnson to buy the compression was 120 on the left side 100 on the right the motor not ben in the water in 2 years so should i pass this one up or buy it

20 psi is to much difference. But, it may just need a good decarb or a head gasket.

20 lbs difference, as Boobie says, is too much variance on a "normal" powerhead. There is something wrong inside. If it's the simple things he mentioned, it could be a good deal with a little work and small expense. If it's more serious, like a scuffed piston or broken rings, you could be looking at a 2000-2500 dollar overhaul. That potential expense pretty much puts this 1985 engine a little value. If you are handy and want to tackle it, use this information to your advantage when negotiating.
