'74 thunderbolt 500 manual tilt will not work.
Can anyone post a repair or owner's manual?
Tried in forward gear, unfreezing the main hinge tube, pressed "dog ear" looking things,
need to take it step by step to determine the issue.
Thanks.

Same motor, it wont lift up..for trailering/launching, had it in fwd, still stuck. I know its something simple, what is the exact tilt process? Ty!

Fwd, lift. Are you sure the motor is shifting?

Yes, forward, lift=hernia and back end of boat lifting, does the long pin have to be in one of the holes for it to release? Because ive taken that out..sorry to sound rediculous, I am handy, refurbished my whaler, and basically rebuilt this motor, im just stuck here and dont want to break anything

That long pin - is it L-shaped with the movable flag? If so, that's the tilt pin. The reverse lock latches on the tilt pin in reverse. If you have the tilt pin pulled out and you can't tilt the motor up something is messed up in the clamp & swivel. Or the tilt tube/swivel bracket is frozen.
