weak start in water, fine on muffs so I bought a new CDI stator. the brown wires came hooked to a two pin plug on the new unit. the old stator had a three pin plug two brown wires and one black/yellow wire. the instructions say to change to the provided new 3 pin connector if that is what is presently being used - it is. So I need to change it easy enough. Problem is that the new stator doesn't have the third wire which I assume has something to do with the kill circuit. How can this stator work with my present wiring and how will not having this third wire (black with yellow stripe) hooked up going to affect the motor? will it allow it to start or is this going to pose a problem? and what should I do?

From both old and new, only two wires. The old has a 3-pin connector, but the third (Black/yellow) comes from wire harness and not from stator.
Just push the old stator wires out of the 3-pin connector and replace with the 2 from the new.
