How can I tell the year of our evirude motor?

I have an Evinrude 35hp motor, looks old, runs great but....how can i tell the year?
The #'s I found on it are
25532 08286

What does that tell me?
Any help would be greatly appriciated

Good old motors. Tune it up right and you'll have a good reliable runner. It would be best to take a compression test on it, before you spend any money on it.
