hi.....welcome to iboats !

um....you might have to be a little more specific than that.....are you talking about the upholstery under the windsheild in a bowrider?

if so.....that panel is just plywood covered with foam and vynal.

it could be screwed ....or there could be inserts.....it really depends.....if you can post pics.....that would help.

Thanks for your reply & interest-- I have posted pictures of the seat backs. I am restoring the boat, so I don't want to do any unrepairable damage to the front seat back rest-- My black lab, Mia, love the front seats of my 15'-6" Starfire Tri-hull100_8556.jpg100_8691.jpg100_8692.jpg100_8693.jpg

those will be screwed in from behind....

go to the drivers or passengers console.....lay on the floor.....and look at the back wall you may have to remove carpet on the passengers side....(rarely up that high)

then undo the screws.......

i did not see from the pics due to the shadows if that was a one piece or not.....i dont think so.....it should be a seperate pad for the back rest......

there is a good possibility that when they built that hull.....the screwed the upholstery on before the put the cap on.

to get the side panels off.......you just may have to pry them off.......
you will be ripping the threads out of the wood if you do this......so you will have a re covering job (but i'm assuming that is why you want the panels off in the first place)

to fasten them back on......you can use plastic inserts.....
the male part is drilled thru the wood.... the foam and upholstery is placed over the wood........the female part is drilled into the cap.

Or you can re-attach them with 2" velcro stips. Works Great!!!!

The backrest are one L-shaped piece, vinyl covered. The cushions just slip in under the backrest, staying in place by anchor cleats.
This was my dads boat I inherited. The Salt Lake City Starfire plant is closed now, but the boat is very stable and well built. three adult men can stand on the same side and it tips very little.
