Hi, I've got a 07 "veradito" engine with 100 hrs. Installed Racor style plastic 10 micron filter when new and always use stabilizer. At beginning of season I have rpm drop from 6k to 4K until I run a bunch of gas through it then seems to go away. Did a cold start and ran normal for about 20 secs then it :confused:immediately cut out. Could not restart and stripped starter internal gear trying. Lots of flywheel resistance. The foam air filter had been soaked with fuel and deteriorated to where parts had been ingested. Pulled plugs and had to use wrench on flywheel to turn.
Raw gas poured out of intake and the plugs holes. Lots...still hard to turn with wrench.
Talked to mechanic and he suggested injector malfunction or some kind of float switch malfunction. Said I'd have to bring in for about $500.
Was going to try starting again with new oil, filter, plugs, rebuilt starter if it was a fluke.

Any ideas guys? Thanks!

If all cylinders were full of fuel that does not point to an injector failure. A failed pressure regulator would be a likely cause as this allows fuel to flow unregulated and drawn into the intake.
