Newbie question: trailing my boat home and put it in my garden?

I have a Verano 460 (Double layer polyester (4meter and 60 centimeters)) boat.
Till now, the marina hoisted the boat each year to let the boat reside on dry land for the winter.

To save money, I would like to put the boat in my garden for the winter months.
At first I thought this would be easy, but after a little consideration, doubts arose.

A few questions come to mind:
- Can I put the boat on old car-tires?
- Can I just glide the boat off the trailer on the car-tires? Or is this practically speaking not possible (the boat weighs 175 kilos).
- I can rent a trailer for a day, but this one is 40 cm shorter then the boat, is this a problem? I need to travel only 20 kilometers.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Yes, you can put the boat on old car tires. Make sure the bow is higher than the stern so any water that collects will drain.
Yes, you can "glide" the boat off the trailer is there isn't too much friction between the hull and the trailer. Careful not to scratch the hull! If you've got three strong friends you should be able to simply lift it off.
With regard to renting a trailer, it depends on the type of trailer and type of boat. If you've got an outboard engine hanging 40cm past the rear of the trailer you're looking for trouble. If the engine is small enough that you might be able to remove it for transport; just lay it in the bow area.

When I saw the post, I thought you were going to make the boat PART of your garden. Seen a few of my fellow hicks in Minnesota do that:D

A person who used to work where I do had a couple for fish aquariums.

Yes you can put it on tires as stated, keep the bow high, leave the plug out and the water will drain out that gets in. The size and weight makes it also possible to get a few friends and lift it off of the trailer and set it on the tires. Take the engine off and store it either in the bow or in the tow vehicle and you may get away with the short trailer, just go easy on the bumps. I would want a trailer that is the correct length for the boat, I know that is not always possible.

I may have one of the more interesting trailers aka lawn ornaments. My 28ft boat and trailers has had no use in 4years because of my new job and it now has vines growing all around it. I will have to upload a picture.
