I have my mercruiser 140 engine removed, I am replacing the rear main oil seal. Does anyone know when you order the seal if a tool comes to remove the seal opposite the cap seal. It is a split seal. If not does anyone know where to get one or what it looks like?

You don't need a special tool to install a split rear main seal. When you put the two halves in, **** them off of center about an eighth of an inch or so, so the split doesn't line up with the bearing cap. Clean the ends well and put a dab of RTV on each end.

I just ordered the seal today and I am awaiting for the new seals to come so I have not removed to old one as of yet. How do you get the seal on the engine side out? I am afraid of scratching the crank if I use something metal. I you have experience in this I would greatly appreciate your help.

Take the time to remove the crank completely.
