Me again. Hopefully 1 day I'll have enough knowledge to answer questions instead of just asking.

My 1974 Mercruiser 140 has the old style Tilt Stop Switch mounted on top of the gimbal ring.
You'll be shocked to hear that the wires broke!

The kid at the dealer who didn't even know what a gimbal bearing was said the switch was not available.

Is there an alternate solution? Thanks

Switch number 45942A1 is no longer available. Try e-bay. Sometimes they are their.

Re: Tilt Stop Switch NLA

The switches were a very short lived item and some didn't last a year, very expencive to change so most people simpley wired around them, as Mercury did not sell many as the units got older they became NLA

Re: Tilt Stop Switch NLA

Thanks guys. I can see why they were short lived and expensive to change.
Does anyone know if there is a retrofit available to a newer style?
