Hi guys. This is my first boat. I have this posted in the Glassmaster owners section, but since I'm kind of starting to clean it up, ezmobee suggested I start a restore thread. It's a 1975 Glassmaster Playmate 600XESD. G56004XESD model number. 3.0 (I think) 4cyl Mercruiser I/O. Runs like a champ. Needs seats though. I traded about $400 worth of Mustang and parts for it. The guy I got it from said that his dad installed new floors 3 years ago.

I yanked the seats out last night. Lots of rotted wood.

I think I'm going to go a different route with seats. My wife nor I like the lounge seats like that so I was thinking about building a little box frame similar to whats already there and then getting a pair of these in white/navy:

on a a locking swivel such as this:

and then putting a forward facing bench in the same colors a few inches in front of the motor cover, eventually re-doing the whole interior in a white/navy color scheme.

Man I like that. My only problem with jump seats in the rear is that you can't really see/hear over the engine cover. I figured a bench would fit nicely and I could use the jump seat spaces for storage and a spot to put the cooler. ;)

In the last pic I posted with the seats gone, does anyone know if I can get the mounting runners pictured off? They seem to be fiberglass and I can't tell if they're made into the boat or just glued.

Your new seats will use something else probably

I figured I can cut those down and still use the screw holes for the new seat bases. I plan on building a box base just like the original seats used, but shorter.
