I just bought a 06 280 sig. Twin 4.3 Volvo. DOing some work in the engine bay yesterday and I noticed that both motors have a thick almost looks painted on black coating. It is not paint and is pretty thick.It is only on the lower half of the motor and oil pan area.If you were to look down into the engine room. The only thing you can see is the normal VP red. You really have to get under to see this stuff. I tore a little piece off and it feels like some sort of sound dead material. Kinda rubber(sponge) feel to it. Does anybody know what I am talking about?
