I recently bought a re-built engine from a reputable dealer, but it is missing the serial/model plate which I think was removed when the engine was re-painted. The dealer said it's a 1990 model - The engine is a 'looper' with the foam cast block and 'self warm up', but in the reading I have found on this year and HP they have a lower engine cover aux tilt switch which mine does not.. any experts know if they simply did some with and some without around this time? Interested to know...
Also, is this engine likely to be prop rated, or at the flywheel?
It has replaced a 1988 110HP Evinrude (crossflow), and having only been for one run myself since fitting certainly packs a lot more punch even with having to tread gently whilst still running in (approx 6 hours).
Many thanks
