Still searching for a replacement prop for my 1968 viking 3.5hp model number 34801 - problem is I do not have a prop at all to try to match with anything that might be available - does anyone know what size/pitch or how many blades this has? Any other motor which may have a similar prop to match? Anyone even have a picture of one close up or can take any info of an existing one for me?

I want to run the motor a little longer than a few seconds - would it work if I rigged up something so I can run a hose connected to the ram pipe with a flow of water to cool the engine? I assume the prop forces water up this pipe so without one I cannot run it even in a bucket.

Re: Viking outboard prop size - and cooling question

Your description sounds like aChrysler 3.5 The power head is air cooled and the tube cools the leg. You will likely note fins on the flywheel and on the powerhead.
Fairwinds Marina is said to have any chrysler part you need. They have a web site.
Chrysler models for 68 are 3018,3028,3118. I would think a prop is an easy pickup.
