You should be well within the limits of the Mercedes with a 17-18' bass boat.

The Starcraft club frowns on your disloyalty.

well, i still love my boat, but too small to handle big water.(too much gear:D)
some people said that better have 2:1 tow weigh capacity of the boat in the safe side,or is the trailer have brake system is better and good for the tranmisson ,should i need to install tranmisson cooler as well??

A bass boat typically will have very little freeboard and would certainly not be my recommendation on big water. I can certainly understand the desire for a larger boat though.

A 2:1 tow rating should not be necessary and 18' or less boat trailers are not often equipped with brakes. A tranny cooler is always a good idea.
