what size kicker

I have a1981 26ft carver that I use for salmon fishing on lake michigan I know that a yamaha t8 would push it but would yamaha f6 be big enough I run about 2-2.5 mph

In my opinion, the 6 would be to small if you were facing any kind of wind.

We run a 9.9hp Yamaha on a 23' Seaswirl walk-around, so on a 26 footer I'd want at least that.

A 10-15hp will serve as an adequate second motor to limp back to port when needed. Not sure how a 6hp would do in some swells/wind.

The T8 and F6 are very different when it comes to thrust, the T8 is designed for what you want to do, the F6 isn't.



There isn't huge difference between the T8 and T9.9, but the extra HP doesn't hurt.
