Purchased this boat and motor about a month ago and everything seemed pretty good. It was a one owner with
360hrs. The last two times i started it up it was smoking kind of bad the first five minutes at the dock, which it didn`t do
the first 5 or 6 times i used it. It seems to run fine but that smoking has me worried, like there`s a major problem. To much prime? oil on the plugs?
Am i in trouble?
Thanks in advance Tom

Check that you do not have pressure in the oil-tank after sitting some time. It might be a blocked ventilation in the oil tank cap. This may force extra oil into the VRO fuel section.

It sat a couple of weeks between use. With the motor tilted off and on.

The carbs will have a gas-oil fuel mix in them, when you turn it off. Over time the gasoline evaporates, causing extra smoke on restart due to the extra oil in the carbs. If it occurs just at start up a week apart or so, I would not worry about it.

Also that motor has a vapor seperator on it. When you prime the motor, you only fill the vapor seperator with gasoline, but the carbs do not get fresh fuel, except from the primer, until the motor starts.
