great at WOT but bogs and misses at "hit it"

1999 4.3L alpha 1 gen2. Just got it and it runs sweet at plane (if it can get there).
If pull the throttle back and forth a few time it seems to "clear up" a bit then haul *** back to plane.

Full tank of fresh 87.

Ayuh,... My guess is crud in the carb,...

What carb is it,..??
