I have a weight distribution system that I use on my camper. I also have a boat trailer that uses the same size ball but it does not use a weight distribution system. Can I use the weight distribution shank/hitch/ball, from my camper, without the trunnion bars for my boat trailer? This would eliminate the need for me to buy another ball mount just for the boat trailer.

Re: Trailer hitch

Ahh, I would say that you could use it, if you can get the chains hooked up without pulling them tight. But I would think that the other parts of the hitch may get in the way. If you have the type of system that I am thinking, then the bar connections may hinder your turning radius, and your backing radius my suffer also. I would not want to damage the camper hitch, I would buy and hitch and ball just for the boat. Its only $40. Much cheaper than a new camper hitch.....
