I have many lines, cracks in my gel coat on my cabin, i am going to paint this boat, will the cracks be filled with the paint, or do i have to fill every line/crack, they aren't deep at all, i will take a pic tomorrow and show you all.

i was told that i will never fix them permanetly, so does that mean my boat is destined for the rubbish tip (boo hoo)

there must be a way to fix them for good.

some pics of the liness

Ayuh,... What I can see, they look like impact cracks,... No problem...

Mix a fairing putty, 'n fill the cracks, Sand it...
Shoot a sandable building primer on it, 'n Sand it out...
Then overcoat with the color paint of yer choice...

Some may come back, Most won't... ;)

bondo is correct...

gellcoat does not crack like paint....it cracks are kinda spiderwebed....its called crazing.

crazing comes form impact or stress....it also comes form an improper catylization rate.

however.....yours do look like crazing...

bondo gave you the easy way....some will come back....come wont. if you want them gone for good......the fiberglass below them must be repaired.
grind down the gellcoat till you get to the fiberglass.....you will see the cracks.....then add another layer of fiberglass over that....then sand that flat.....then repair as described above
