1970 80 hp outboard!!!

what oil ratio do I use for a 1970 80 hp outboard? How many oz. of oil do I use per gallon of gas?

Pretty great calculator if you don't want to have to think about it too hard. My impression has been that modern 2 stroke oils are formulated so that a 50:1 ratio is more than enough oil to keep your engine running long. Some oils are good to 100:1 but, between a slightly fouled plug and a destroyed motor...I'll take the slightly fouled plug. (just whatever you do, don't get into what the best 2 stroke oil you should use is...)

Run it 50::1. One US pint of TCW-III Two cycle oil (any brand) to 6 US Gallons of regular unleaded gasoline

ok thank you guys i am going to try this out i know the motor has been sitting for at least 3 years.
is there any kind of proses i should take before starting it? thanks to all

and no i wont even ask what oil to use.... lol i know where that would lead......
