After I got rid of the Chieftain I was going through Starcraft withdrawls.....so I went and got a 1973 18' Holiday to fill that void in my life. From what I can tell it is all original with the exception of being repainted at some point. It has the 140hp Mercruiser and MC1 drive.

The PO installed a swim platform this spring but didn't seal any of the bolt holes so it had to come off.

I filled all the holes with 5200 for now an will fill in with marine tex when the snow starts flyin.

That's the horn. It's in pretty sad shape though.

That's a nice boat there. Take a little work, not too much tho. Here I thought you bought one to go straight on the water. I'm jealous of the original manuals for it.

Thats a nice looking ride Andrew. Congrats on such a good find so fast. Hoping not too much water got into that transom. Its too bad it wasn't taken care of sooner but its in good hands now.

Re: 1973 Starcraft Holiday

I still have a bunch of epoxy and auruco ply so I will probably throw a new deck and transom in this winter. It also seemed to take on a bit of water (though I think most of it was from pulling the tube back in) so I will gluvit the rivets and seams since I have a gallon of it already.

Re: 1973 Starcraft Holiday

I almost bought a Holiday with twin 35's last fall. That was befor I found the Starcraft forum.....otherwise I would have picked it up.

I already have 4 foot itis. I've been browsing craigslist for an Islander or Chieftain.....even though I have no money. I think I would prefer an Islander since it has more deck space. That will probably have to wait till after the first of the year though :(.

Re: 1973 Starcraft Holiday

Sooooo, i think i might restore the holiday over winter. It was repainted at some point and is peeling in some spots from lack of prepwork. I already have ply, Gluvit and epoxy so there wouldn't be a whole lot of cost involved. I just wanted to get some feedback from the starmada.

Oh I'd like that, it will give me something to watch while mine is under 4' of snow.

Give you something to do all winter. Helps it go faster. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished. Probably before mine is.
