I recently upgraded the motor to a 65hp Johnson on my boat and found out the hard way the old steering setup was insufficient. There are pulleys front and back on each side of the boat where a cable is attached to the back of the steering wheel. The cable and pulleys cant handle the bigger motor. I need to upgrade to either rack and pinion or rotary. Problem is i want to keep the factory Larson steering wheel. Will the old steering wheel work with one of these setups?
