Replace your fuel filters. There should be 2. One on the Fuel intake line to the carb, and one in the fuel/water seporator.
Close, there should be a filter in the fuel pump bowl, along with the one in the inlet fitting of the carb. IF, and that is a big if, someone installed a water seperating fuel filter between the tank and fuel pump you need to check it. The 3.0L engines did not come from the factory with one.
You also need to check that you are getting fuel to the fuel pump. A quick check is to hook up a remote tank (outboard tank), directly to the fuel pump and see if the engine will run on it's own.
