I'm trying to find the torque specs for the oil pan bolts. I've got a 4.3 with cast aluminum oil pan, gen+. The service manual says 80 lb-in for the 1/4 bolts and 165 lb-in for the 5/16 bolts, gen+ engines torque to 18 lb-ft, but doesn't say which ones. the fasteners I have are all 1/2, there is 10 bolts and 2 nuts. So I'm not sure if I should torque all them down to 18 lb-ft which seems a little high. Is this right?

Re: oil pan torque specs

thanks, I do know the conversion but what I meant was that the manual states 18 lb-ft for gen+ but doesn't state the size of the bolts. I have all 1/2 bolts. From the mercruiser manual

"tighten 1/4-20 threaded fasteners to 80 lb. in. (9 N?m) and 5/16-18 threaded fasteners to 165 lb. in. (19 N?m). Gen + engines torque to nuts and bolts to 18 lb. ft. (25 N?m)."
