Need genset for Amerosport 284

Does anyone know what size genset was put into 1988 Amerosport 284? And does anyone have any ideas where I could find a suitable replacement?

I checked that model for sale on Yachtworld and not one had a genny.
I would think a 3.5 or 5 kw would be appropriate, depending on what you intend to run.
Google 'marine generator' and you'll find plenty of sources.
Better be sitting down because they ain't cheap!

That's interesting because the boat has the brackets and it looks like they were used. Do you think a 3.5kW will run the A/C and fridge, etc.?

I did some Googling and thank goodness I was sitting down when I saw the price. I am hoping to find one at a salvage yard or something like that.

Definitely the fridge, but it would be marginal with A/C.
I have a big 16K unit on my Silverton and tried to power it with a 3kw portable generator- and it didn't work.
Based on that experiment, I went ahead and installed a Kohler 5kw marine generator.
Of course, that was back when we all had 'disposable' incomes....
