any reason i shouldnt put my new deck in without the ski locker? i dont really use it and water getting in there prob doesnt help keeping moisture out of my stringers.
No problem at all. However, ski locker doesn't automatically equal rot if everything is sealed correctly, you do not have carpet in there, and you have proper drainage to the bilge.
i do have a soft spot. part of the reason im replacing the deck. other is i hate the carpet. not sure if i want to keep the ski locker. still thinking about it. the wall of the ski locker is soft as well. and yes the locker is lined with carpet. ill see how bad the stringers look when i rip off the deck. transom looks good. ill inspect further there too. my main goal is to replace the deck without replacing the bow portion of it. but again we'll see how the wood is and go from there
