Evinrude Lightwin 3 hp ?

Trying to find the year of this engine. serial #3022-11357. I think it is a 3Hp not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there Thanks for the info. Now how about the fuel mixture,I can't tell what the oil oz is per Gal of Gas.

24:1 on the mixture. From the front of my motor (which is still readable) 1/2 pint of 30wt oil per gallon of gas

matchbx and jargin, dont use 30wt, use tcw-3 rated two stroke outboard oil,... if your north of the border, 12 litres of gas to 500ml of oil. (that pint/gallon stuff confuses me! lol)

Thanks Thats what i Though Mine is readable all but the 1/2 I though it mite be 1/4. Mixed up some fuel and it runs great!! Now its ready for the UP next weekend.

Not advisable to run that 1957 motor at 24:1. That motor started out life as a 16:1 motor and uses bushings instead of needle bearings for the crank and pistons.

Never bothered to do the math, but 128 oz / 8 oz = 16. So as per the label on the motor 1/2 pint to 1 gallon is 16 to 1.

Thanks Again for the help.Mixed 24to1 But will try 16to1. After looking at the parts list I think I am missing a part! looks like the air silencer is missing. Will this heart to run it this way?

If it does anything at all it will make it run lean. I just restored a 62 Johnson 3hp last month and i was missing mine too. Ran just fine without it, but i found one at a local outboard shop they had sitting around for $24.

Yep, like txwhaler said. Stick with that 16:1 mix and that little booger will run forever. Some here will say 24:1, but that was recemended for the non-friction motors, like the 10hp and bigger. 24:1 will work in that, but preferably if you're at an idle most of the time. Those are great little motors and a lot of guys here favor them.
