A friend of mine gave me a Lowrance x28. It works but the transducer cable has been cut in several places while loading a pontoon in the wind. The transducer itself is perfect, it's just the cable. Is the cable , being coax, a specific tuned length since it operates off of a frequency? Or is it a lost cause? The price of a new transducer being $70 is not worth it to me since this is an out dated fish finder, and I can buy a new fish finder, not a great one buy good enough for me, for $90 complete in the package. Hopefully I could just splice, solder, and shrink tube the damage or just splice out the section of cable and go with it. Will it work? Thanks
